How do I go about purchasing a puppy from you?

First you will need to fill out a Questionnaire which I will email to you. We will also have to have a telephone conversation to see if you are approved or not. We will need to determine if you want a puppy strictly as a pet or for showing/breeding. All pets must be spayed or neutered and micro chipped before you will be able to receive your registration application. If you desire a show/breeding prospect, there are no guarantees. We can only evaluate the qualities the puppy has at 8 weeks and then hope that with proper training and care the puppy will go on to become a champion in the show ring. I only sell show prospects to those individuals who have had previous experience in the show ring. Once we both evaluate the puppy that you choose, you will need to sign my contract and put down a deposit to hold the puppy. No puppy will be held without a deposit and a completed Questionnaire having been returned to me along with the signed contract.

What kind of contract and guarantee comes with the puppy?

I will forward this contract and it explains it all.

Do you ship?

I no longer ship due to the undue stress and the risk to ship a puppy. Airline tickets are very affordable now-a-days with a 10 day notice. You can fly into Orlando International Airport and carry the puppy on board with you, under your seat, in a soft carrier such as a Sherpa bag. You will need to notify the airline ahead of time that you will be bringing the puppy on board with you. They will require a health certificate for the puppy.

What tests do you do on your dogs?

We have the eyes checked by certified opthalmologists, the hearts checked by cardiologists, and the hips and patellae checked by OFA.

What’s wrong with just using a vet?

Because the equipment the specialists use costs thousands of dollars and additional training which the local veterinariens don’t have. If a local vet could hear a heart murmur and see retinal dysplasia we wouldn’t need to go to all the trouble and expense to have these tests performed by specialists.

How old will the puppy be when I can get it?
They have to be at least 8 weeks old.

What supplies will I need?

Besides a crate, you will need a small slicker brush, a small pin brush, a regular soft bristle brush, a metal comb, whitner shampoo for parti-colored dogs. A small nail clipper, stainless steel bowls that clip on the crate for feeding. Puppy wee wee pads for housebreaking and a nice soft pad for the puppy to sleep on, puppy safe toys and chew sticks. Pig ears give your dog bad breath so I don’t recommend them.

What kind of food do you feed the puppy?

Nutro Max puppy and Nutro Max chicken for adults.

How often should I bathe the puppy?

About once every month but you should brush them daily.

How much do they shed?

Cavaliers will shed more in the summer months if left outside. Brushing helps keep dead hairs removed. They shed lightly in the winter.

Why do I need to neuter a male? What age should it be neutered?

Males will mark their territory if not neutered at an early age. I recommend before 5 months of age.

When should I get my female spayed?

I would wait until she is just about a year old but not after as there has been some studies done to prove that it helps delay the onset of any heart problems. The females need the hormones for bone tissue. Females have an average of 2 heat cycles per year.

Do they get along with other children or pets?

Yes, but you will need to socialize them at first to make sure the pet that was there first will accept them. Cavaliers love children but they need to be supervised with the puppy and allow the puppy to have lots of nap time. Young children should be made to sit down when they are holding the puppy.
